Practice Round:
Competitors are kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round prior to the championship. Practice times are available on Thursday 9 May between 10:30 and 16:30. Competitors unable to practice on the official practice day may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the club. Bookings for practice times must be made in advance by telephoning the Pro Shop on 01555 661456.

Additional practice rounds will be charged at £21.00.

Practice Facilities:
Competitors may use the club’s practice ground and must practice from within the designated hitting area. An additional practice area is available, which is a short drive, but maximum club to be used is a 6-iron. There is a practice putting green and two driving nets also available. There is a larger practice area, a short walk from the back of the 1st green, with 4 enclosed driving bays available. Competitors are advised that it is irons only at this practice area. Competitors will be required to use their own practice balls.

Competitors using any of the above practice facilities do so at their own risk.

Registration:
Competitors must report to the SGU Championship Office a minimum of 30 minutes on the day prior to the first round tee off time.

Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering.

Course and Play:
Competitors must report to the official starter at the first tee five minutes before they are due to play.

At the end of the round, players must return scorecards to the SGU Championship Office without undue delay.

Pace of Play:
Players will be required to read the SGU Pace of Play Guidelines prior to registering at the Championship Office. Full guidelines are also available on the SGU 2013 Rules hard card.

The SGU Pace of Play Policy will be implemented for the duration of the championship with roving referees on course to enforce any necessary actions.

Withdrawals:
Withdrawals will not be accepted at any time unless confirmed by email, fax or letter. A competitor failing to notify SGUL by this method before 17:00 on Wednesday 8 May will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal to the Championship Committee will the ban be lifted.

A player is not permitted to withdraw at any stage of the championship except for emergency reasons or medical circumstances explained to and deemed acceptable by the Championship Committee. A player failing to notify the Championship Committee in person of his withdrawal before departing the championship venue will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal will the ban be lifted.

Car Park:
Competitors may use the main car park with an overflow available if required. The Scottish Golf Union and Lanark Golf Club cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.

Catering:
Coffee, tea and morning rolls will be available from 06.30. Food will be served all day with last orders 30 minutes after close of play each day. A limited menu will be in place for the duration of the championship. All catering is at the competitor's own expense.

Clubhouse:
Will be open one hour before the first tee-time on each day. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities.

In all clubhouse areas and on the course casual wear is acceptable for competitors, but must be smart. THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, TRAINING SUITS AND SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Hats must be removed before entering the clubhouse. Golf shoes are not permitted in the clubhouse.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF IN THE CLUBHOUSE.

Competitors under the age of 18 will not be allowed to play fruit machines, nor consume or purchase alcoholic drinks.

Changing facilities are available in both the gents’ and visitors’ locker rooms. There are approximately 30 lockers available on a first come first serve basis and require £1 deposit. There are showers available however competitors are advised to bring their own towel.

Trolleys and Yardage Books:
The professional’s shop has a limited number of trolleys for hire, at £3, on a first come first serve basis. Yardage books are also available for purchase at £3.

Insurance:
The entry fee includes cover in respect of competitors' legal liability in the event of injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess will apply.

Presentation:
The championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Sunday 12 May. Medal winners are expected to attend the relevant prize giving.

Responsibility:
Lanark Golf Club and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for players’ property during the championship or on the days when practice is permitted.

Directions:
Lanark is a rural market town situated 25 miles south east of Glasgow, 35 miles south west of Edinburgh and just 9 miles from junction 12 on the M74 motorway.

The course is located to the east of the town, off the A73.
